this is something i read recently and it just hit me pretty hard

A number of years ago, I had the privilege of teaching at a school of ministry. My students were hungry for God, and I was constantly searching for ways to challenge them to fall more in love with Jesus and to become voices for revival in the Church. I came across a quote attributed most often to Rev. Sam Pascoe. It is a short version of the history of Christianity, and it goes like this: Christianity started in Palestine as a fellowship; it moved to Greece and became a philosophy; it moved to Italy and became an institution; it moved to Europe and became a culture; it came to America and became an enterprise.

Hand raised, Some of the students were only 18 or 19 years old–barely out of diapers–and I wanted them to understand and appreciate the import of the last line, so I clarified it by adding, “An enterprise. That’s a business.” After a few moments Martha, the youngest student in the class, raised her hand. I could not imagine what her question might be. I thought the little vignette was self-explanatory, and that I had performed it brilliantly. Nevertheless, I acknowledged Martha’s raised hand, “Yes, Martha.” She asked such a simple question, “A business? But isn’t it supposed to be a body?” I could not envision where this line of questioning was going, and the only response I could think of was, “Yes.” She continued, “But when a body becomes a business, isn’t that a prostitute?”

The room went dead silent. For several seconds no one moved or spoke. We were stunned, afraid to make a sound because the presence of God had flooded into the room, and we knew we were on holy ground. All I could think in those sacred moments was, “Wow, I wish I’d thought of that.” I didn’t dare express that thought aloud. God had taken over the class.
Martha’s question changed my life. For six months, I thought about her question at least once every day. “When a body becomes a business, isn’t that a prostitute?” There is only one answer to her question. The answer is “Yes.” The American Church, tragically, is heavily populated by people who do not love God. How can we love Him? We don’t even know Him; and I mean really know Him.

What do I mean when I say “really know Him?”…….

that revelation hit me hard and fast……. i didn’t know what to do…….but each time i shared it with ppl they had the same response as i did…. conviction repentance and compassion like Jesus

summer heat and reflections

this summer has been an …interesting one to say the least

in preparation for my CSET mathematics test i think i actually studied more on average everyday than i ever have normally during a quarter UCLA….i’m not sure if thats good or bad…lol
living at home made me really appreciate what i have here at UCLA in terms just my spiritual family i mean i think i really do take it for granted sometimes what a great spiritual family i have here
seriously it felt weird trying to discipline myself to stay connnected to God i mean i have a great realatiosnhpi with God but its just at home the atmosphere is a bit different with my parents and all
i think i have grown to have more peace on certain issues with God and people
like i guess the whole issue of drinking for a long time i’ve struggled with whether it was right or not for Christians my mentor disagrees and says no one should drink at all but most other people i have consulted agree that drinking in it of itself is not a sin…it is drunkness and just examining scripture carefully
at the end of the day i know i can drink with a clean conscience and accountability / reasonable limits
and even though i disagree with my mentor i am very glad that he still gives me the space to make my own choice and all..but man….i so think that his point of view is stretching Bible verses a bit …but at this point i think i have learned a little about just respecting a brother’s opinion
i guess this quarter should be interesting because i know decisions i make esepcialy for my teacher credential program will impact me greatly in the future
God i pray my last year …would be done according to Your will

yesterday i had the honor of doing chruch out on the streets of pomona. my old youth pastor invited me out to pomona where he and this dude name Gabe were doing homeless ministry right on the side walk in pomona
they set up tables and gave food and talked to the people that came by, they had a short message preached by Gabe right there by the streets with cars screaming past us. My youth pastor brought his youth group from Ontario and they helped out by offering to do the homeless people’s laundry…i didn’t realize it but by doing so you are giving back part of their dignity as a human …clean clothes are a big blessing to these people….i got to talk to a few of these people and listen to their stories ..i realized at this point i can’t believe everything they say but i just give my ears willingly….somehow standing on the sidewalk and singing worship songs and trying to sing over the street noise…it all felt more like church than when i go to a nice pew with a high quality worship band…no offense of course to the established churches its just …i knew Jesus was there …the dude Gabe i knew was legit for doing these things he was here on these same streets during his youth time as an addict…he said himself that he felt more privileged to be preaching out in the streets than in a big church….good times good times …i’m glad God brought me out there to learn more about His heart and love for everyone…..

God…is good no matter what

yesterday i heard a good sister share a testimony on why God allows us to experience certain trials

this sister was goin through depression sure she looked good on the outside saying hi and smiling at everyone at work but as soon as she got home she cries….praying to God about her desires for this that her job her future but God just says give Me your desires and she did she found out how contradictory her desires were and when she gave them to God He gave her His desires which were not contradictory

through it all she gained Christ and was at peace in fact so at peace tha when she was laid off she went out of hte office with God’s love thanking everyone inlcuding ppl she didn’t like….ppl were like WTF!!! this girl was just laid how can she still smile what has gotten into her!!! i tell you what it is it is GOD!!!!!!

when GOd lead Israel out of Egypt He did so with many might works..the ten plagues anyone? those have got to be crazy!! but the main point was that Israel was lifted up not for their own sake but for GOd’s GLORY and NAMESAKE ( good name J mA 4 ur band) HE lifts us up but all glory and honor and praise go to HIM and HIM ALONE

now I am not saying GOd doesn’t love us HE does that’s why He did it but to not make us go over hour heads and get pride in our selves becuase that will be our downfall He lifts us up at the time we choose to surreneder

when we choose to submit to His will because then He knows that HE can trust us with greater treasures ….when Joespeh was sold by his brothers GOd was testing him….and Joespeh made the choice to hold on to God’s promise and never let go and in the mean time he learned so much about serving, stewarship , and strategy things that would later help Joespeh manage the entrire country of Egypt …the little Joespeh had he was faithful and my sister was in giving up her desires to God ( which were bad and contradicotry thereby causing her stress) and God throws away the junk and gives us somehting new and even better than our desires…HIS DESIRES

IT’s all about HIM ..not us ….praise God because when you are in the midst of hardship HE IS LIFTING YOU UP TO REPOSITION YOU FOR HIS GLORY

fight the good fight and leave the rest up to GOD MAKE THE CHOICE TODAY

beach head in UCLA!!!!

dude God is doing something crazy in UCLA!!! today my mentor Marc called me and told me to press in to praying for UCLA tonight as i was going to meet up w/ da house of prayer people …i wasn’t sure what he meant but he just said that something in the air and it was good and taht we should pray for God to come into the campus and against the enemies’ attacks…so tonight we soaked on God and then we started to pray for UCLA…OMG …the prayers taht were flowing out of our mouths!! and the visions that i saw and others saw!! it was crazy …i began to pray about God establishing a beachhead on UCLA ground like what the Allies did on D -Day at Normandy that HE would begin to move mightly ( not taht He wasnt before but to move more prominently) and we began to just prohphesy unity for the differen campus ministries and praying for ourselves that God woudl give us discipline and character to continue the work and I truly believe that the bowls of incense which are the prayers of the saints from the previous generations up till now have filled the bowl and God is pouring it out …i saw some visions and the first one was a scene of B-52 Bombers dropping bombs down on campus and some of the bombs became angels flying down to do battle and my second vision was of a aerial map of UCLA and just ablood fell on the center of the map and then it spread throughout the entire map of the campus…..I truly believe WE WILLL WITNESS THE BOOK OF ACTS HAPPEN ON THIS CAMPUS…my prayer is COME LORD COME…Preapare our hearts …..discipline us…remove any thing that is stopping Your Glory from falling on this campus..AMEN!!!

make way for my sheep!!!!!!!! & other things

so this week we went out to do our skit and B Kho suggested we do the parable of the lost sheep matthew 18: 12-14

¹²“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? ¹³And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. ¹⁴In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.

so we literally got on all fours and went “bawww” like sheep down Bruin Walk and boy that was humbling …it killed my flesh like no other ….wow…the herd went down bruin walk and then stopped dead center and while we were going down the “lost sheep” went off to the side off the tables on Bruin walk and then the shepherd counted the sheep while in the center of bruin walk and “realized” that she ( J Chuu!!) lost her sheep and she went around asking people and then when she finds the lost sheep then she rejoices and goes around celebraitng with da crowd

it was good just to act like a fool for the kingdom of christ my pride was obliterated

also i have been really sad and depressed becuase i started to take practice test for the CSET math ( a test to get into a teeacher credential program) and omg…it was hard!! i failed as in no UCLA fail but FAIL in rea life ( 1/2 wrong on teh test) my roomates who are genius at math said that it was beyond what hig school taught and required in soem cases advanced trig stuff nad that was only the “algebra” section fo the test…i was praying to God and shared the prayer request with my fellow bros and sis in christ and they praeyd for me come friday i go to a house church hosted by Dr. Yoo and theni meet these two women who were Armenian i began to speak the little Areminian i learned from my roomate and they seemed impressed that i could speak it with littel accent ( i swear when i speak tongues it sounds like something in the Middle east or hebrew who nkows? anyone interpret tongues for me? )

and then i found out omg they were both math teachers and one in fact just passed the cset recently!!! omg omg!!! i was like PRASIE GOD and i got their contact info and one of them asked me to pray for his son and i will be comitted to it …i just can’t belive how fast my prayers were answered thanks to those who prayed for me!!!

GOD IS GOOD!!!!

So on friday for my developmental psych class we watched a video of theories on how children learn language many of the experts concluded that language learning is mostly innate and check this out experts say that the 5000 languages all actually originated from a single language …..and that there is a universal grammar that exists and each language has certain traits in them that link them all together like all languages have words that indicate singular/plural, past, present times, and so on…which confirms what it says in Genesis 11
The Tower of Babel
“1Now the whole earth had one language and the same words. 2And as people migrated from the east, they found a plain in(A) the land of Shinar and settled there. 3And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone,(B) and bitumen for mortar. 4Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower(C) with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.” 5And(D) the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built. 6And the LORD said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. wow…i wasn’t even expecting God to show up like that right in my class nice!

pc1 freestyle session

Today at Passion Church 1 we decided tat since we were at starbucks w/ no guitar or other musical instruments we were going to praise God by free stylin and it was sooo fun! so we basicaly just rhymed a praise for Jesus and the next person would have to rhyme the last word of the lyric … so like “Though the chancesof beliving inHim are slim” then “I will continue to press in to Him for those don’t know Him” and we had a good time just getting into the Word and it rocked our world as usual church is soooo fun!My family rocks for we stand upon the Rock of Ages as we turn the pages ok if u didn’t catch tat tat was just my attempt at rhyming while writing !!!!! LOL PRaise God!
